Graduation Details

Hi 5-307 Parents,

The end of the year is upon us.  Here is some information about upcoming events.

Graduation
Graduation is next Friday, June 22nd at 10 am in our school’s Multimedia Room.  Parents and students will be invited to sit at 9:40 a.m., and graduates will begin lining up in the hallway at 9:45 a.m.  Because this is a regular school day for the rest of PS 154, we ask that you don’t come earlier than that time so as not to disrupt the other classrooms on the first floor.

The graduation ceremony usually lasts about one hour to one hour and a half. The students will be dismissed with their families at the end of the ceremony.

Graduation tickets were distributed on Monday, June 18th.  Each family will receive 3 tickets.  Children that sit on laps will not need a ticket.   We ask that you keep to just 3 guests because of the size of the graduation space.  Seating is limited, and last year’s graduation became standing room only.  If you need more tickets, or you don’t think you will be using all 3 tickets, please contact Sharon Matz.

Graduation caps were distributed today. s in attendance on that day.

5th grade picnic
The picnic will be held Monday, June 25th, near the Picnic House in Prospect Park from 10 am –  12 noon.  Students will bring bagged lunches, sports equipment or games, and blankets.  At this time, students will be given their yearbooks and 5th grade T-shirts.  Students should bring in a permanent marker (like a Sharpie) and a pen to sign yearbooks and T-shirts.

If you would like to volunteer to help assist at the picnic, please contact Sharon Matz at sharonmatz83@gmail.com or Ms. Fought at msfought@gmail.com

Classroom Work
Our million-dollar project showcase will be on Tuesday, June 26th.  Students may bring in projects before then if they choose.  The students were asked to have all pricing done by Monday, June 18th.  We will be assembling the projects in class next week (on Monday through Wednesday).  If they would like posterboard or other large materials I might not have, please help them purchase it to bring in on Monday.  They will have access to computers, markers and construction paper.

Desk-Cleaning and Portfolio Finishing will take place on Monday, June 25th, in the afternoon (after the picnic).  Expect lots of papers, notebooks and projects to come home on that day!!!
If you have any questions, please contact me at msfought@gmail.com or send in a note with your child.
