Historical Fiction Book Collages!

Thanks, Mrs. Brueckel!

Mrs. Brueckel came in for our most recent First Fridays and shared lots of information on Chinese New Year, and brought pencils, chocolates and sweetly-scented bookmarks as gifts for our class.

It's the Hat!

James brought in this snazzy new hat that he got from the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Table 4 had to try it on!

Music Time

Meet Tor, the 4th and 5th grade's new music teacher. Last week, students played the keyboard, listened to great guitar playing and shared their favorite singers and bands. Nick played some wonderful improvisational keyboard, and Samira and Caroline sang along with the music.

Country Project Gallery Walk

What a wonderful First Friday! We enjoyed Pandora's selections based on Vince Guaraldi Trio and looking at everyone's Western Hemisphere project. Thanks for making it great!

Author Visit: Alexander Lagos

Alexander Lagos, co-author of the historical fiction graphic novel "The Sons of Liberty," visited the 5th grade classrooms today. He showed the students the book's artwork in it's drafting and inking stages, answered questions about the story, and showed us the cover of and some pages from his newest book, "The Sons of Liberty: Death and Taxes." Thank you so much!
