Graduation is Almost Here!

The Fifth Grade Graduation will be held in the auditorium of PS 295/New Voices this Monday, June 21st at 10:00 a.m. PS 295 is on 18th Street between 6th and 7th.

Students should arrive at 9:45 a.m. at 295 for the ceremony. Students will be dismissed after the ceremony to their families.

5th Grade Events

Here's a rundown of upcoming PS 154 Events:

June 4th: 6:30 pm - Ballroom Recital in the MMR
June 9th: 5th Grade Luncheon at Bay Ridge Manor
June 8th: 1/2 Day
June 11th: Field Day in Prospect Park
June 17th: 1/2 Day and Teacher Student Kickball Game
June 21th: Graduation at PS 295 at 10 a.m.
June 28th: Last Day of School

Poconos Trip - this Friday!

Start packing your bag of snacks, extra clothes and insect spray. The 5th grade trip is this Friday, May 21st. The buses leave at 7 am, so be sure to get to the school by 6:45.

Math Test

The state Math Test for 5th Grade is Wednesday and Thursday, May 5th and 6th. Be sure to hit the hay early, eat a good breakfast and get to school on time!

Earth Parade Pics

Earth Parade

This Thursday, April 22nd, is Earth Day, and it's also the day of our 2nd annual Earth Parade. We will be marching around the perimeter of the school (Windor to Terrace to Sherman and back to the school yard). We will also be holding the ribbon cutting for our school's new Garden. Please come by and cheer us on! The parade will start at about 2:15 p.m.

Science Fair!

The school's science fair is set for May 10-13 in the MMR. A science project is a MANDATORY assignment for 5th graders, and only a small fraction of students have handed in their proposals.

Please be sure to come up with your project idea and submit it Ms. Giamboi ASAP!

Class 5-307's Mayan Museum

Please enjoy these photos from Class 5-307's Mayan Museum and celebration. We munched on homemade tortillas will all of the accoutrement, and students created and described Mayan artifacts. Congratulations to Olivia and Sydney for receiving First and Second Place awards for their artifacts.

Read A Thon

This is the last week of the Read-a-Thon - be sure to push yourself to read AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!! Some students are past 2,000 minutes of reading!

The YMCA Armory

Today was a blast - an extra sports session with Andy, Mr. Havlik and Mrs. Ussery at the brand new YMCA Armory in Park Slope. We practiced soccer and basketball drills, and ran track relays. Our next trip to the Armory is March 23rd.
