Parent Teacher Conferences

Next Thursday, March 19th, will be Parent Teacher Conferences. The afternoon session runs from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. and the evening session from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. Notices about appointments went home at the beginning of the week, and not all have been returned. Please let us know if you need a form so we can set up a time for your family.

Book Fair!

Next week, our school will be hosting its bi-annual Book Fair in the MMR. Books of all genres and for all ages will be available, with most priced between $2 and $20. Classes will be visiting Tuesday - Thursday to purchase books, and the book fair will also be during Parent-Teacher conferences.

Calling All Photographers!

TIME For Kids has an assignment for YOU. We've told you about global warming, endangered animals, hybrid cars, and green schools. Now we want YOU to show us What does Earth Day mean to you?

Last year's winner Rainey Lynch, 11, of Dallas, Texas, found these three green anoles in her backyard. Her photo is titled "Looking out for each other."

If you are a photographer, and you care about the environment, we invite you to submit your original photograph for the TIME For Kids Earth Day Photo Contest. The grand prize winner will receive a digital camera and publication of his or her winning photo in the April 17, 2009 Earth Day issue of TIME For Kids.

Snow Day/ Math Test Update!

We know you've all been on the edge of your seats, wondering "How will this snow day affect the state math test?" Here is your answer: the tests will be postponed one day, so part one will be this Wednesday, March 4th, and part two will be Thursday, March 5th.

It's Math Test Time!

This Tuesday, March 3rd, and Wednesday, March 5th, students will be taking the 5th grade New York State Mathematics exams. Please make sure to play outside after school, get lots of rest, and eat a healthy breakfast to prepare. Make sure to get to school on time, too!
